about us

Hi. Welcome to our site.

We are native New Yorkers.

Laura has a B.A. in art from Queens College and worked at Harcourt, Brace as an art editor; later was a dealer of vintage clothing and collectibles.

Neal has a B.A. in psychology from L.I.U. and did graduate work in finance at Bernard Baruch, CCNY. He has been a professional poker player since college days.

Neal was introduced to painting by Laura who has been making art her whole life.

Both studied at the Art Students League with Robert Beverly Hale; also Frank Mason, Issac Soyer, Gregory d’Alessio, and Will Barnet. Neal took printmaking with Seong Moy , Michael Pellettieri , and Bill Behnken.

First exhibited at Aames Gallery, NYC and later at Ann Leonard Gallery, Woodstock, NY. Two person shows in 90’s at Millbrook Gallery, Millbrook, NY; Litchfield Connecticut Library ; and Donnell Library, NYC.

We are members of SAGA (Society of American Graphic Artists)

We love animals (have cats). and Laura has executed many pet portrait commissions. Neal sold his first painting to a passerby while working in Central Park.

Both of us are currently represented by The Old Print Shop, NYC.

We also show at ASL and through ASL “Operation Outreach”

Considerable time, effort, and thought has been devoted to our garden in Bearsville, NY.

We divide our time between NYC and upstate Bearsville where we have our painting and printmaking studio.

Laura: The arts are so important in our increasingly hi-tech world. As they say ” A picture is worth a thousand words”.

Neal: Starting with a blank surface and ending with a completed image is nothing short of magic.

Hope you enjoy the work.
